U.S. slowdown hits Valeo

Valeo is hit by the drop in new-car sales in the U.S. and is thinking about its 2010 profit target, CEO Thierry Morin said. "Valeo is sailing on the same troubled seas as everyone else," Morin said at the Paris auto show.

Toyota backs off full-sized pickup war

VW commits to minority suppliers, employees at new U.S. plant

Volkswagen AG's U.S. purchasing chief said today that 5 percent of the companies that will launch the German automaker's Chattanooga, Tenn., assembly plant in 2011will be minority-owned suppliers.

Exec says Nissan can still reach annual sales target

A top executive at Nissan Motor Co. said today Japan's No. 3 automaker was still on track to meet its sales target of 3.9 million vehicles this business year despite a sharp downturn in many key markets.
