Toyota Motor Corp. said today that it has developed rear seat airbags to prevent passenger head injuries in a rear-end collision. The airbag descends from the roof in front of the back window to create a curtainlike barrier.

Nissan will try to position the 370Z as a Porsche competitor. The follow-up to the venerable 350Z will boast a bigger 3.7-liter engine when it debuts at the Los Angeles motor show in November.

Russian automaker GAZ Group said on Tuesday it plans to invest 200 million euros ($287 million) in the construction of a large plant, which will start production in 2010.

Nissan North America is moving its multicultural account to Omnicom Group, to a new agency that will be set up to comply with Nissan's requirement for certified minority ownership and attempt to create a new model for handling multicultural business.
